Our 2019 summer internship program will start on May 20th and last through July 26th. To be eligible, you must be a college student during the time of the internship program.
Auto Adjuster Internship A hands-on, 10 week program with an inside look into the world of claims. With the main focus on low to moderately complex auto claims, interns work under direct supervision, perform routine work assignments and problem resolution. This internship Includes opportunities to learn about other aspects and professionals of insurance. Interns recognize life events, understand member needs, and provide advice in order to deliver appropriate solutions. This program offers many exciting opportunities to work across multiple locations providing fresh perspectives and innovate ideas to help improve processes and services for USAA members. The Auto Adjuster Internship is offered in five USAA locations; San Antonio, TX, Tampa, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, and Chesapeake, VA.
-Provides AUTO/CASUALTY claims service via internal channels (phone/email/fax/mail/other electronic channels) to members and third party customers. -Adjusts low to moderately complex auto claims. -Severity of claims work includes liability, non-injury, and auto theft/fire losses. -Acquires and applies foundational knowledge of P&C insurance industry products, services, and processes to include P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages and the USAA claim handling process and procedures. -Seeks guidance from team members to resolve issues and to identify appropriate issues for escalation. -Partners and/or directs vendors and internal business partners to facilitate claims resolution. -Supports workload surges and/or Catastrophe operations as needed to include working significant overtime during designated CAT's.
-Pursuing a Bachelor's degree
-Graduation date cannot be prior to the end of the internship
Up to 1 year of customer contact experience required.
Successful completion of a job-related assessment may be required.
